Our Tri-Parish community was introduced to Mike and his message when he spoke to our confirmation candidates last year. His gripping stories of unfortunate decisions he had made in his youth and adult life, and subsequent experiences of God's forgiving and healing grace, had a powerful impact on the young people with whom he shared his message. At this critical time in their lives, they identified with the possibility of heading down the wrong road with their life, coming to their senses, and wishing to turn around. Mike's presentation was so effective that the teens and teachers wanted it to be shared with the adults of our community as well. We first became aware of Mike’s work in the area of Second Chances a few years ago, and had him speak to our Confirmation students. The Confirmation students indicated through a survey that they wanted to hear personal witness of people who overcame difficulties in their lives through their faith.
